Why does msn messenger show a contact log on when they are already online?

When i log on to msn messenger the window appears that says that one of my contacts has just signed in,,when that contact has already been online for an hour or so. Why does this happen?

To let you know who is on. It is an open network button. When you log on your friend who has been online for some time ,gets one that says you just logged in. They just use the one message for both scenarios is all.

sometimes it happenes when a contact gets offline for a moment .. so the windows appears again..


anyway.. MSN is always surprising ..


it happend to me that the window popped up 20 minutes later ..XDXD
