On Yahoo messenger if I am showing my webcam to someone does it show up to others on my buddy list?

Like does it say by my name on their list "View my webcam? I had a feeling it did when I didnt invite them, I was just chatting with someone else and using our webcams. But even if it did they cant join in huh?

If you are showing online to everyone on your list they will see 'View my Webcam' by your name. The only way anyone can see your cam is if you invite them to view. If someone wants to see your cam they can click on 'View my Webcam' %26amp; if you want them to see you click 'Accept' if you do not want them to see you click 'Deny'. If you think someone is viewing your cam without your permission then you can make sure you have it set that everyone has to ask. To do this bring up your yahoo messenger list, click on 'Messenger' at the top, go to 'Preferences', find 'Webcam' in the list. There you can click "Always ask for my permission", click 'Apply' then 'Ok'. This way you will know who is able to see your cam.

If you do not want to display this link - open messenger %26gt; messenger %26gt; preference %26gt; privacy - uncheck the box that controls the message %26gt; apply %26gt; ok

Utube have a couple of videos about forcing web-cams - but its fairly random unless they have your IP address - on the bottom of your webcam panel you will see how many people are watching you (broadcasting - # Viewers) and you can see who they are by using the top toolbar (Webcam - who's watching me?)
Reply:probably , There is a small spyware which can view your wc without your permission.


If you'r suspected of anything Try and Test as below:





turn your wc on and remember whom you Invited only.


After a while on yoru wc window , Click on Webcam %26lt;%26lt; Who's watching me. %26lt;%26lt; Now in here you only see ID's which you have been invited . and IF in there has some more Ids which u don't know , then I think u should probably must use some Internet security and Spyware to scan and Clean your PC out.
Reply:I don't think they can view your web cam without your permission. If they want to it will show up saying that whatever their name is wants permission to view your web cam or at the bottom of your box where it shows how many viewers your have, keep your eye on that and if you only gave permission to one person to view your cam then that number should stay at 1.
Reply:with out your permission no one can view ur web cam unless u accept their invite......if somne one want to view your cam an invite ll be send to u asking that this person wants to view ur cam....if u accept it it can be shown or u can ignore....
