I want to know if there is ANY WAY possible for anyone to view messenger conversations after the program has been shut off and the messages are automatically deleted. I have heard rumors that this can happen, and want to know if it is true, and if so...how far back can the records go, and who could have access to these records?

Programs like Yahoo! Messenger have an option for you to set a message archive. Under the message archive you have the options of saving all message, saving all messages but clearing them each time you sign out or not saving them at all. The message archive also allows you to save the timestamps on your messages. To select this is Yahoo! Messenger go to Contact -%26gt; Message archive.
