I already changed preferences and it keeps showing up when I reboot. It is not in the startup menu either. Is it because it is in the Yahoo Toolbar?
How can i stop my messenger from launching at start up?
When you log in uncheck "sign me in automatically". That should help to not get you logged in like that again.
Hope that helps!
Reply:If you mean Yahoo instant messenger, go to Start %26gt; run, type "msconfig" (no quotes) see the tab labelled "startup" - check for an entry to yahoo msgs there... if it's there uncheck it and click apply then reboot. - If you are talking about MSN messenger, it's a part of explorer and will run in the background most of the time regardless how you try to get rid of it.
Reply:Ok, you need to log out then log back in and at the beginning when you log in uncheck the boxes to start up automatically., Then hit the x at the top to log out and exit from messenger. Then reboot your computer and it will stop doing it.
Reply:start---run----type: msconfig--------choose: start up, and uncheck the box beside it..
Reply:turn your computer off.
Reply:Please try to reinstall your messenger and make sure to uncheck the "automatically start messenger" option.
Reply:Go to the menu: Messenger, Preferences, uncheck the first checkbox "Automatically Start Yahoo Messenger"
Changing "login" settings will not prevent messenger from launching, it will only stop it from connecting to Yahoo.
Good luck, if that doesn't fix it, I'd uninstall and reinstall.
Reply:UR MESSENGER VERSION IS ?? OR WAT U DO IS U JUST REMOVE THIS MESSENGER VERSION FRO MYOUR COMPUTER AND DOWNLOAD NEW ONE. MIGHT IT HELP YOU...
!... ALL D BEST ...!
Reply:This happened to me. I changed my password via my email account, then it can't log itself in every time without you inputting the new password on log in. When you manually log in, unclick the option for automatic log in. I think :S
