How do I delete yahoo messenger from my account?

I wish to delete Yahoo Messenger from my account. I no longer want this service. How do I delete it so anyone trying to contact me through this service will get a note stating this person is not a Yahoo Messenger subscriber.

You can delete Messenger from your computer. If you do, anyone who has you on their Messenger list will see that you're not online and will not attempt to contact you through Messenger.





To remove Messenger:


1. In Windows, click the Start button in the lower left of your screen.


2. Select Settings %26gt; Control Panel.


3. Click Add/Remove Programs.


4. Scroll down the list to find Yahoo! Messenger.


5. Click the Change/Remove button.





Please ignore any answers that tell you to delete your account! That will also remove your email address, all your emails, all your account information and any customized Yahoo! services. I don't think you want to do that!
Reply:You can't; by having Yahoo you have a messenger account, that's just how it is. You can just uninstall the messenger and not use it anymore though.
Reply:If you are trying to get a message " this person is not a Yahoo Messenger subscriber" you can not get this. Yahoo IM is an add-on to your yahoo account. Just delete the program from your computer. Then they will not be able to contact you via YIM. However you may sill be on others Contact List. The only way to avoid people is to close your yahoo account and start another account.
Reply:U cant delete ur yahoo answers or any other yahoo service account individually. If u wish to delete ur account, u shall hv to delete ur full yahoo account.

and click on terminate account.


It will solve ur problem.
Reply:You can remove messenger by going into control panel%26gt;add/remove programs...I don't think there is a way of letting people know you're not accepting messages ,though. After no answers from you they will probably get the hint.lol
