Reply:Go to the settings menu item and de select "start with windows." Alternitively, you can go to run in your start menu, type "msconfig" and in the last tab find MSN and deselect it there.
Reply:If you do not need/use MSN then just simply uninstall it and/or disable the service....
If you use MSN but dont' want it to auto-start, then you can either do one of the following...
A) Open MSN and go to Preferences/Settings, and disable Start MSN when Windos start.
B) Go to the registry and take it out of your run list.. To get there, do this..
1... Click Start --%26gt; Run --%26gt; Type regedit and hit ENTER
2. Now Go here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wi...
Note: If the key is cut off, hover your mouse over it to see full location of registry key.
3. Delete the Messenger key.

Reply:wow, lots of answers, here's a shorter one...
rename the folder that the program resides in, that way when your puter boots up, it can't find the exe and won't start, but you'll still be able to use it whenever you want. Just change the icon on your start menu to the new folder name by editing it's properties. Pretty easy and it worx!
Reply:click start
then run
then type in msconfig
click the last tab up top
thats the startup
remove the check mark from msn messenger.
click apply
restart your computer.
viola
you're done.
it will no longer load at start up
Reply:if you've got windows xp-
start-run-msconfig-startup and then remove the flag from msn entry
or easier in the msn options remove the flag from --Automatically run when windows starts
Reply:i dont know i think i programed it to do that but if u dont want ppl to know ur there back click the little icon near ur clock on the right hand side and click my status and make ur self seem online hope it works
