How can I determine if someone is using my ID for Yahoo Messenger?

Recently I've started to receive a message when I sign into Mail that says I have been disconnected from chat because I am signed in to Yahoo!Messenger from another computer or device. I've never used Messenger and am wondering if this is a glitch or if someone else could be using my id.

How can I determine if someone is using my ID for Yahoo Messenger?
Yes, change your password, always a good idea,

BUT

New yahoo mail has a messenger in its body, so if you signed into yahoo mail and you sign into yahoo messenger it will give you the message that you are signed into a different device.

I have a feeling that is your problem. So make sure you sing out of Yahoo Mail, before you try to sign into Messenger.

If you do not get same message, then you have nothing to worry about.

Hope I helped....:)
Reply:The problem is that I don't use Messenger, never downloaded it, don't even know how to get to it. So it's not me who is signed into it! Anyone know how to block the use of Messenger? Report Abuse

Reply:Change password and see if still does that, also make sure they don't have password to your email where yahoo sends you confirmations and all. And keep eye on who's using computer because they can use key logger to get your password again and just kind of watch you.
Reply:more than likely someone got your password from somewhere. i feel for you.. someone got mine and now i keep getting e-mails from lesbians and bis saying they met in the chat room and want to talk some more. and i have never even BEEN on chat!

all you can really do is change your password and report abuse to yahoo. although yahoo won't really do much. they just told me to block the messages when i get them (i was already doing that on my own!)
