I use sonicwall soho 2 and trend micro internet security 6. I tried to deny the access to program from trend micro firewall, they bypassed it. I have tried to put a password on trend and it does not keep them out. I could not find how to disable it from sonic wall. Any help is apprciated

Reply:You can create user accounts that do not allow permission to install programs as another user mentioned or you can block the port that MSN Messenger uses on the SonicWall firewall as well. Should be a pretty simple setting change if that is the last thing between the network and the internet connection.

If don't talk to somebody at all and I delete them from the partners list in order not to see them being on-line or logging in, what do they see? Do they receive any alerts from msn? Do they still see me on their list, and in this case am I simply always off-line?

This happens sometimes when you have a lot of special characters (i.e. not letters) in your username. The program doesn鈥檛 recognize all of these and may insert ?s in their place.

you must have had more precautions when changing your password so it won't give you problems of signing in. since you are asked again to fill up the info, then that's your last resort to retrieve it back. if you can't provide, no way you can get it back.

Reply:I dont think you can save two computers chat history on one computer. It saves on the computer that you using. It saves on the harddrive somewhere, I dont think you have the option to link the two together.

For Mail Classic: Click Options Mail Options in the top-right corner, and then choose "Block Addresses" in the Management column.

Norton isn't keeping messenger from logging in, just log in and click the box to either connect automatically or to auto sign in. Either way I would suggest you get rid of Norton....its a system hog and there's plenty of other options that are both free and paid services......you may have some other program that is clearing out the temp folder or clearing cookies and that's why the messenger isn't logging in automatically. I would suggest to not have the messenger sign in automatic anyways as this could cause a security problem especially if you have the sharing option available.

Reply:That's odd, the fact that it's wireless should not make any difference whatsoever. However, these services are applications, versus using an Internet browser to view email. That said, check to ensure you have the latest version of your messenger services and that they are compatible with your new Vista operating system.
Try this, in Yahoo! Messenger, click Messenger, Connection Preferences and change the connection setting to "No Network Detection" Click apply and OK and see if that helps.
This step can be performed without being logged in!

There's your problem right there. Vista is so buggy...
Make sure you have the latest Java Virtual Machine installed, and make sure you don't need any proxies set up. If that doesn't work, see if you can get Windows XP installed. :P

How can I access yahoo messenger live without downloading the actual messeger to my computer? Is it possible?
I am trying to use my yahoo messengerr without having to download the messenger to my computer. Can't remember how to do this though! Any info I'd really appreciate!!

I got a software update from Yahoo Messenger hours ago and allowed it to update. After the installation, i discovered that my chat archives aren't available anymore! Have a look in your C drive - the messages are not stored on line but on your computer - not in the messenger software file but in the profile file - thats why they are still available when you upgrade messenger

If you have a high speed Internet connection then it probably can't connect to the server. Are you behind a firewall? I don't know what port it uses to connect and download it but maybe if it doesn't use the standard port 80 it uses a different port which is being blocked in your case.

I had messenger set up for me. I had two contacts to begin with and they both are able to receive audibles from me. I added a new contact and I cannot get audibles to apply. Toolbar is not lit up. I tried help but it did not work for this one new contact. Help.

If you do not get same message, then you have nothing to worry about.

I know that they can't contact you anymore, but if your screen name is still on their messenger list, will you still show online or will you just appear invisable to them? And when they try to im you will they get a message that says they've been put on my ignore list? What will happen when they try to im you?

When you ignore a contact, you always appear offline to the contact. They cannot view your status or send you an IM.
Ive never had anyone on my ignore list be able to contact me.

Reply:i hate to tell you this, you can put them on your ignore list till hell freezes over and they'll be able to contact you. I've ignore some people so many times, but they still come back. I'm guessing if your on their messenger list, they'll be about to see when you come on line unless your invisible.

Or, you can just click the “forget me” link and it will forget the info.
