Can i make messenger (yahoo,google talk) calls through my ATT Tilt phone when connected to wifi or data-plan ?

When i bought iphone, there is no voice recorder nor video recorder so i am planning to buy ATT tilt phone which i believe it has.

Using the ATT tilt phone, can i make yahoo messenger or google talk or msn messenger internet calls when connected to wi-fi or data-plan ? Please advice the possibilities of doing it without a data plan too . Your answers are appreciated.

The menu at the top of the screen (where the list of contacts is) isn't there all the time, I have to press the alt key to show it.

Unfortunately offline messages are erased when you close Yahoo or if it logs out by itself.

There is NO way to retrieve them.

Very annoying I agree and I wish yahoo would have it as an option to save them just like it saves message archives.

Why does Yahoo Personals open now when I start Yahoo Messenger? I don't want this unnecessary start-up. How do I disable it please? I have not used this in many years. Why does it suddently start now??? When I hit "go" it says that this is no longer available and will direct me to the personals page of me looking for a partner. I am married, happily, I don't want another partner. I find this extremely annoying.

Funny. I got the same thing. I have about 109 emails waiting, and counting, and I cannot get to it myself.

I really don't know what triggered this, because I run Yahoo from several different stations with different Yahoo versions and it shows up on all of them.

Reply:I figured that might be the solution, but unfortunately I don't want to upgrade! I found Yahoo 9 to be more problematic than not. Besides, I have a program called Ytunnel that is great for preventing bot messages from coming through to me in chat, that only appears to work in Yahoo 8. Report Abuse

Reply:I had the same problem and I solved it by updating the messenger (on Yahoo! Messenger click on "Help" and then select "Check for updates"). Hope it also works for you...

Anyway here is the answer.

The problem could be of slow connection speed. Other thing you can do is to Un-install or Update the Yahoo Messenger and download the latest version of it which is 9.0.0.2136 from www.filehippo.com.

You can update it without un-installing the present one. New update will un-install it itself and install latest version.

To know which version you are using click%26gt;help on Yahoo Maesenger then click "About Yahoo Messenger". You will get the version you are using.

If you get a voice boot in a chat room about the only fix for it is to clean out your cache and then log out of messenger and reboot your PC then go back to the room again.

Here is how to clean out your yahoo cache%26gt;

Click on the Start button then go to Computer then C: drive then to Program Files then the Yahoo folder. Click on Messenger then the Cache folder.

Delete everything inside the Cache folder EXCEPT the yellow folders, like( Audibles, avatars, branding etc...)

All of these are sent to your recycle bin so just empty it before you reboot your PC.

How do you do a 3 way chat on yahoo messenger? How can you chat with more than one person at a time?
Here is how you can do a conference with multiple friends.

At the top of the Messenger window click on "Actions", at the bottom of the drop down menu click on "Invite to Conference"

That will open your friends list in another window, just click on the persons you want and hit ADD. Their names will go to the list on the right side then.

When your done adding just click on the "Invite"button and they will only have to accept the invite to join you in your own conference room. Oh and be sure to check the box "Enable Voice for this Conference" if you wish to speak to them on the mic.

You can also start a conference with some one from your IM window by just clicking on the Conference button and following the same directions as above.

Once you are in the Conference room you can add more people from there, just click on Conference and repeat the add friend process.

hmmm...well as per ur words ...ur ID had been deleted frm that YM...but you see that person ID active in ur YM...coz u have not deleted that ID frm ur YM ..if u could have deleted that ID also..then you wont be able to see that ID in active mode not in inactive mode...because u dont have that ID with your YM.so if u dont want that ID to be active in ur YM then delete it..simple

sounds like your cookies are getting deleted everytime you do this. try making your preference say "show at all times" then exit your browser and sign out. reload it and after that it should work smoothly.

There is no point to loading BlackBerry Messenger onto your phone if you do not have internet. BBM is used over the data network which you claim to not have. You can always try loading the OS for the BlackBerry again and selecting to install BlackBerry Messenger. Check www.blackberry.com for OS upgrades or your service providers website.

i don't know if there is really a difference when using yahoo messenger in Windows and in Mac. but for me, it's not about the OS you're using. if we are talking plainly about yahoo messenger, all the settings of YM can be applied in all OS just like Linux since my Buddy is using Linux. and to set font colors, on your messenger box, click "messenger" %26gt; "Preferences" %26gt; "Appearance":from here, you can change the Skin of your YM, fonts and colors of message windows or customize the fonts and colors as you like; and list text "font" and "color" too. and after making the setting, click "OK".

Click the "startup" tab at the top.

Find Yahoo Messenger and uncheck it.

This won't remove Yahoo Messenger from the hard drive, and won't technically uninstall it completely, but it should keep it from starting up when booting up.

Reply:I didn't care for the new messenger but have gotten used to it. If the typeface is too small, just go to preferences and change to a font you like and a larger size. That should do it without going thru all the trouble of uninstalling software.

In a pinch, you could always hold down the CTRL key and hit the + key to magnify things.

I believe this is just an optional upgrade. I think there are some security issues on WLM 8.5 version that is why they are prompting users to upgrade to WLM 9.0. If you want, you can downgraded your WLM to version 8.1 by uninstalling it and then installing the WLM 8.1 version.

How do I check my instant messages on yahoo messenger?

A box came up that I had some messages while I was offline, but I didn't click on it and it went away. The box did not come back.

If u want to save offline messages:

Go to the messenger menu, click on "Preferences"

Next, click on "archive".

If the box next to "SAVE all messages" is checked your messages are still available for you to see.

If you've checked the box that says "No, do not save messages"

your messages will not be available for you to see.

they get permanently deleted and you can't get them back

but what you can do is send another IM

to that person that sent you the instant messages

and ask them what they wanted.

Reply:as the picture is so small on MSN that when you 'print screen it' it will be really rubbish quality, i think that you should either ask them to send you their image or take one from their bebo, myspace, flickr or facebook profile which should be much better quality if they have that.

I know that certain computers store the old pictures used for MSN messenger profiles. Surely these are stored some on my pc. It seems as though when I delete them using right click, they are still there when i next log on, any ideas, where the files are actually kept?

You click on the MSN menu -

'tools'

and 'change display picture'

There should be a link that when you highlight the d.p you can remove it or delete it. If not then you can always try right clicking on the subject then delete.

Reply:After you've pressed 'print screen' you need to go to some other programme, it doesn't necessarily have to be an image one, something like Microsoft Word works fine as well, and then press paste.

you plug it in, and determine whether it works. your cam should have come with a manual and software. read the first to know how to use the second.

i have used many different webcams - a labtec model, a shark digital camera (pocket sized), and a sony handycam, hooked up to an analog/digital converter. so long as your comptuer can recognize the camera, yahoo IM should recognize it, too.

with the cam connected, and you logged in to YahooIM, start up a conversation, with your friend, and click the Cam button. This will invite them to view your cam, and change your status to "View my webcam" or something like that. Your friend either wants to see you or not - they don't need their own cam, but it is polite to show yourself when you are looking on. You may want to change your status beforehand to invisible so that when you invite your friend to view your cam, all the people in your Relatives list don't know what you are up to.

Why does messenger keep freezing when I try to instant message someone?

Whenever I try to instant message someone, the instant message window freezes, along with yahoo messenger itself. My friends aren't having this problem. It's fine before I instant message.

What version of Messenger do you have? If it's 9.0, please follow these instructions:

First you have to uninstall the 9.0 version. Go to CONTROL PANEL----than go to PROGRAMS/FEATURES, or ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Scroll down till you see YAHOO MESSENGER. Click on it and than click UNINSTALL. Use this link below that I provided to install:

To customize you Blackberry Profile rings and Alerts

From the BB main screen locate the Profiles icon

Select Profiles

Scroll to the Bottom and select Advanced...

Highlight the current (Active) profile and Select the BB Menu key

Select Edit

Go to Phone

Set Out of Holster from "VIBRATE+TONE to TONE" (up to you)

and In Holster "VIBRATE+TONE to TONE" (up to you)

hit the back arrow key then select SAVE

next the messages(this may seem redundant and tedious but it can be done) instead of changing it to TONE in stead change all options to "VIBRATE"

Preform the same steps above for

Messages - Alerts

Messages - New Messages

Messages[email@email.com]******(WHAT YOU WANT TO EDIT)

Hey first you have to delete this guy from your friends list.

then put him in ignore list and all you want is done.

The fonts are based on what fonts you have installed on your pc, YM should automatically detect the font unless it is corrupt or did not install on your pc correctly. If you installed the font on your pc, open an IM window and use the font dropdown to see if its in there.
