Reply:If you go to your Control Panel, click on Add or Remove Programs, and then select the version you don't like. Then just click remove and it will uninstall it for you.
After that, download the version you DO want (probably one you already know works for you), and install it.
Since the newer version is gone, there should be no reason for it to not let you to install an older, and quite possibly superior version again.

Reply:You need to uninstall all of MSN....go under your control panel then add/delete programs or manage programs. Then go to download.com and find the MSN you want and install it. This should work!

On the log in screen, click the arrow under the password button and de-select the “remember me” button. From there, you can re-enter the correct information and sign in.

All my sound application jams when I start gtalk or yahoo messenger or dell studio 15?
I have got a brand new studio 15 laptop from Dell. All my sound application jams when I start gtalk. I can't play songs or movies,
both the microphone and speaker doesn't work after I login to gtalk.I have to restart my system to restore my sound back.
The problem arises only when I login to Gtalk. skype works well with my laptop. Does any one has a fix?

I reported this to Dell Support. They acknowledged the issue and told me that this is known bug with IDT Audio Driver. But they refused to give any date for availability of the patch.
I've also posted this on the Dell Community forum. but no responses yet.
Do let me know if you were able to resolve or work around this problem with your laptop.

So much has changed in Yahoo. I've tried to get into the chat rooms but I don't see what the tutorial is telling me. There is no drop down menu anywhere on my Messenger to show a chat. Is Messenger the only way to get into the chat rooms?

Simply put, just click the Mark As Spam button in the instant message. The address will be blocked and you won't get any more messages from them. Repeat the process as necessary if you get more in the future. Hope this helps.

They are both stable and work really good with most software now adays. And if possible try upgrading your internet to DSL. A fast machine and fast internet will give you what your looking for. Trust me its worth it, but can be sometimes expensive so be careful.

Is there any way at all I can find out who hacked into my Windows Live Messenger account? They don't seem to have changed anything but whenever I was logged in, sometimes it logged me out saying I logged in on a different computer. Also, my friend told me I was online at 1am which I wasn't. I haven't given my password to anyone. Is there a way I can find out who hacked in?

No not really, the best thing to do is change your password as soon as possible. Also change your secret question too. This will ensure that no one will be able to re-enter your windows live account. Also run a spyware scanner on your PC - just to make sure there arent any keyloggers etc installed.

1. Open the start tab
2. Locate your system setting
3. Open the control panel
4. Select Add/Remove programs
5. Find your messenger program
6. Single click and select “restore” option
7. Follow any other directions – depending on version

Linux has many alternatives to Windows Messenger, like Pidgin, Gaim %26amp; Kopete, for example.
Just look in the Program listings for an already pre-installed IM client.

When i bought iphone, there is no voice recorder nor video recorder so i am planning to buy ATT tilt phone which i believe it has.

Why does Yahoo Personals open now when I start Yahoo Messenger? I don't want this unnecessary start-up. How do I disable it please? I have not used this in many years. Why does it suddently start now??? When I hit "go" it says that this is no longer available and will direct me to the personals page of me looking for a partner. I am married, happily, I don't want another partner. I find this extremely annoying.

How do I take programs like Windows Messenger and Yahoo Messenger out of the startup toolbar?
More specifically how do I remove them from the startup toolbar since they are already in there. I don't want to uninstall the programs, but then I only want to running when I call for them. Don't want them running in stealth mode either. Just trying to free up some more memory.

If you get a voice boot in a chat room about the only fix for it is to clean out your cache and then log out of messenger and reboot your PC then go back to the room again.
Here is how to clean out your yahoo cache%26gt;
Click on the Start button then go to Computer then C: drive then to Program Files then the Yahoo folder. Click on Messenger then the Cache folder.
Delete everything inside the Cache folder EXCEPT the yellow folders, like( Audibles, avatars, branding etc...)
All of these are sent to your recycle bin so just empty it before you reboot your PC.

Click on the Start button then go to Computer then C: drive then to Program Files then the Yahoo folder. Click on Messenger then the Cache folder.
Delete everything inside the Cache folder EXCEPT the yellow folders, like( Audibles, avatars, branding etc...)
All of these are sent to your recycle bin so just empty it before you reboot your PC.

Here is how you can do a conference with multiple friends.
At the top of the Messenger window click on "Actions", at the bottom of the drop down menu click on "Invite to Conference"

When a contact deletes me from their messenger, do they still appear on my contact list in messenger?
I believe one of my contacts deleted me on their end in yahoo messenger, but they continue to appear on my messenger list as an active contact. I believe this because yahoo prompted me to add this person, when they have already been added and actively communicated with. Needless to say, if I could ask them, I would. Circumstances do not permit such a question right now.

hmmm...well as per ur words ...ur ID had been deleted frm that YM...but you see that person ID active in ur YM...coz u have not deleted that ID frm ur YM ..if u could have deleted that ID also..then you wont be able to see that ID in active mode not in inactive mode...because u dont have that ID with your YM.so if u dont want that ID to be active in ur YM then delete it..simple

sounds like your cookies are getting deleted everytime you do this. try making your preference say "show at all times" then exit your browser and sign out. reload it and after that it should work smoothly.

I think you have this virus and to clean or delet it you just need to buy any antivirus and scan then but i can tell you this virus will not delet by only one scan because the virus will spread out every of your computer very fast and when you scan one time maby one or two of the viruses still be there and after 24 hours again your computer will be full of this virus. so please do not scan only one time at lease scan for 4 or 3 time which make your computer completely good .
6) Having genem virus which will not allow you to sign in into messengers such as:
1- Yahoo messenger
2- Google talk
3- MSN messenger
7) Having barets virus which can do anything like
1- sign in even you do not want
2- Can take you to the sites which contain viruses to damage your computer
3- At once take you to anywhere like Windows Media Player, internet, messenger, or even can delet your or clean your antivirus without knowing of you even when your computer is off( you should be very becareful of this virus) BECAREFULL..

That's what we use to communicate appointments and everything so we have each other on our lists. So if me and my co worker are talking about personal stuff can the IT tech guy track what we are saying from his computer?

Messenger was setup to run as soon as my computer turned on. I have turned off messenger using the preferences menu in messenger itself, and it will not leave the startup part of my computer. Can i go to the hard drive and remove messenger from my computer and still use att yahoo without any problems. I still have to be able to chat. Do I need messenger for this? You could send your friend the file though, and they could listen to that.

Why is Yahoo messenger still on my start up screen?
On one of my computers at work, I uninstalled Yahoo Messenger and all of its components. However, when I start the computer, the messenger sign on screen still comes up. I've tried numerous things to get if off but it still comes up. It doesn't really bother anything on the computer, but its annoying. Can anyone help me? I took it off this computer so the employee wouldn't be able to use it at work. Thanks!
