How do I get into the chat room other than through Messenger?

So much has changed in Yahoo. I've tried to get into the chat rooms but I don't see what the tutorial is telling me. There is no drop down menu anywhere on my Messenger to show a chat. Is Messenger the only way to get into the chat rooms?

Yahoo messenger is the only way to get into the Yahoo chat rooms. It's been the case since Yahoo discontinued the web (java) version of yahoo chat.





So you need to download and use Yahoo messenger. Within Yahoo messenger, after you've signed in, you'll need to locate , Messenger%26gt;Yahoo! Chat%26gt;Join a Room, in the menu. And that is how you get into the chat rooms. Of course there is also the captcha that you need to go through. It's also something that has changed lately. You need to go through captcha, also known as word verification, before you enter a room. Which means you need to go through it each time you change rooms as well...





Yahoo chat is no longer what it used to be.
