If I use blackberry messenger while being in another country is it free to send messages and to receive?

I have the blackberry curve 8330, I also have the unlimited data plan with it as well as unlimited text. If I was in Canada and wanted to blackberry message someone who has the messenger also is it free because i have the unlimited data plan?

If I use blackberry messenger while being in another country is it free to send messages and to receive?
The following is extracted from an article on How Stuff Works for Blackberry Messenger:

"With BlackBerry Messenger, however, the server stays involved as it would if you were sending e-mails. All communications go through parent-company Research in Motion's servers as you continue to exchange messages. That also means you can't use BlackBerry Messenger unless you have a BlackBerry Internet plan, or data plan."

Translation: BBM works via internet. So, you having an unlimited data plan / internet your covered. It is just like you are accessing a website. There should be no additional fees. The only difference between this an instant messaging is that the BB (or RIM) servers are being used.
Reply:On my network ( a uk one) I was told by them that the blackberry bundle only provides access but you would still be charged for the sent and received data as normal roaming costs.
